Building on our long history of delivering world-class clinical applications to the life sciences industry, Medidata�??s Product Organization is staffed with a passionate team of product management experts, tackling the industry�??s most difficult technical challenges in order to push the boundaries of possibility for our clients and most importantly, for patients. Medidata is looking for an experienced user experience researcher to launch and grow our user research practice. This will include understanding our needs, enabling design and other team members, promoting research across the organization, and identifying how to strategically grow the research team. Insights from these research studies will influence the design of our products and services to deliver user and customer value.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and optimize our UX research process and methods.

  • Partner with cross-functional teammates from design, product, data science, marketing, and engineering to identify, plan, and execute impactful research projects across Medidata�??s products, and the entire user or customer journey.

  • Promote adoption of UX research across the the company.

  • Grow the team to support this adoption.

  • Represent our current and potential user and customer experiences by conveying insights in crisp, clear, and actionable ways.

  • Help our team continuously identify and learn about current and potential opportunities to better serve our users, inspire product strategy, and encourage design iteration.

  • Experiment with innovative ways to shed new light on client experiences to help inform business decisions.

  • Participate in all design team activities, mentor team members, and champion the team�??s work across Medidata.

Your Competencies:

  • You have a passion for helping people and an interest in the role of clinical researcher in this endeavor.

Your Education & Experience:

  • You have a degree in Anthropology, Behavioral Economics, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, Sociology, (or similar).

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in UX research roles.

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission under the terms of applicable plan documents, while many of Medidata�??s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
